The international airport in Berlin Germany is officially called the Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt). It is situated 18 km southeast of the city in the state of Brandenburg.
Brandenburg Airport (BER) is a main base for two discount air carriers: Ryanair and Eurowings. Several other low-cost airlines also provide passenger service to the airport.
Berlin Airport is currently served by an Airport Express service (FEX), S-Bahn service (light rail) and conventional train service. Several express buses also provide service to the airport.
The Brandenburg Airport in Berlin was officially opened in October 2020. It was named after Willy Brandt, the former mayor of West Berlin.
This new airport replaced three former airports: Tegel Airport, Schonefeld Airport and Tempelhof Airport.
