The centre of Berlin is called "Mitte".  It is located north of the Spree River and is the centre of culture, commerce and politics.

Famous landmarks in Mitte include the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden (street), Friedrickstrasse (street), Nickolaiviertel (district) and Alexanderplatz (square).
